Beretta Age Lookup. To find the year of proof of your Beretta Shotgun you’ll need to find the Date Code. This will either be Roman Numerals for earlier guns or two letters for later guns. The position of this varies from gun to gun but is usually hidden from view without breaking the gun down. Here seen at the rear of the barrels, underneath the chambers on an Over and Under. Finding the Blue Book value of your new and used firearms, including pistols, rifles, shotguns, airguns, and blackpowder guns is easy with the number one source of gun pricing. This site provides values and information on firearms in a convenient online pricing guide format, and allows you to find out what your used guns are worth.
Hi there,
Just saw a SO3 serial number C090478, and was wondering if someone can help with the year of manufacture ?

Please enter the serial number of your firearm below and click search. This application only works for firearms imported and distributed by Beretta USA Corp. From 1988 to date. If the search does not provide a return, your firearm may be older in which case you should see this link. The Beretta M1951 is a 9×19mm semi-automatic pistol developed during the late 1940s and early 1950s by Pietro Beretta S.p.A. The pistol was produced strictly for military use and was introduced into service with the Italian Armed Forces and other Italian security forces as the Modello 1951 (M1951), replacing the Modello 1934 pistol chambered for the 9×17mm Short (.380 ACP) cartridge. Locate the serial number on the left side of the pistol's frame. The standard location for the serial number is above the trigger guard. Some serial numbers are located underneath the frame in front of the trigger guard. Others are on the rear of the frame, above the gun's grip.
Henry;
My understanding is that the date code is not part of the serial number. The date code is found in a rectangle under the bottom barrel. From l945 to 1974 the code will be in Roman numerals. After 1974 it will be two letters, the first or which will be an A, B, or C. Can you find the code on your gun ?
Richard
I agree with Richard you need to look at the date code on the barrels, but given the serial number it is probably mid-late 70s. I have a 1974 gun with date code XXX on the barrels. The serial number is A0152xx.
Ken
Thank you all.
